Emergency Medical Evacuation Coverage

Many travel insurance comprehensive plans and travel medical plans include an emergency medical evacuation/transportation benefit. Many travelers assume that under these plans if they become ill or injured they will be transported home for treatment. That's not always the case.

These plans provide transportation to the nearest adequate medical facility. Sometimes that means you'll be treated near your home and sometimes it doesn't. The determination as to where you will be transported for treatment is made by the medical staff on site and the emergency services provider.

Medjet Assistance is the only plan that we know of that lets the client choose where to receive treatment. If you want to be brought home it's your decision. All that's required is that you be receiving in-patient medical care at your current location and that in-patient treatment will be required at your destination.

For those that want complete control over their medical treatment this is the plan for you.
Available on a yearly or per trip basis.  Go to Medjet Assistance

Airline Ticket Insurance

Most air tickets sold today are non-refundable, non-transferable, and in many cases non-changeable. For example, if you purchase a Priceline or Hotwire ticket and you or a family member gets sick and you can't travel as planned you're stuck for the full ticket amount. For most other tickets even if you can change your travel dates the airlines are requiring increasingly hefty fees to make any changes.

Note: Flight Guard Flight Accident coverage and Rental Car CDW coverage can be added to this policy.

With Travel Guard's Air Ticket Protection Plan you can insure the replacement cost of the ticket and get additional benefits for as low as $15 per person. For more information click here

Rental Car Coverage Only (CDW)

Not every car renter needs additional collision damage protection. Check with your personal auto insurance provider, your credit card company, and your rental car company for existing coverages. But if you do need additional protection don't overpay!

Did you know that...

  • Rental agency collision coverage is usually "secondary"  to your personal policy and they often charge you up to $18 per day? Secondary coverage only pays once you have exhausted any other sources of reimbursement available to you.
  • Credit card coverage typically provides secondary coverage and often has location restrictions?
  • Most credit card companies now refuse coverage for rentals in Ireland, Israel, and Jamaica?
  • Luxembourg reports selling CDW coverage for $46 per day?

Travel Guard offers you a product that provides $25,000 in primary collision coverage, anywhere for only $7 per day or up to $35,000 coverage for only $9 per day.

This coverage pays first - before any other insurance. In fact, this coverage can spare you premium increases on your personal automobile coverage due to rental car claims.

The coverage is underwritten by a member company of the National Accident Insurance Group, rated A+ (Superior) by the A.M. Best rating service.

Note: On the enrollment form you'll be asked for your travel dates. Be sure to enter just the dates you'll be renting the car if it's different from your total travel departure and return dates. Be sure to include both your pick up and drop off dates.

Here's another way to save on rental car CDW coverage if you are a US or Canada resident. The CSA Vacation Guarantee includes $25,000 of primary CDW coverage as part of its basic coverage.

If all you need is the CDW coverage you can select the Silver Plan at a $0 trip cost (no cancellation coverage) at an incredible rate. For example, a 60 year old traveler would pay only $24 for the plan for up to 30 days of coverage! Plus, you'll be getting the other benefits of the plan -- even if you don't need them it's still a great deal.

Click here to purchase the plan. When you click through to the CSA enrollment page be sure to do the following:

  • Select "one" traveler: Remember only the person listed as the primary driver on the rental contract has to purchase the coverage but be sure that any other drivers are also on the rental contract.
  • Select the "Silver Plan"
  • Indicate "$0" when asked for the trip cost to be insured.
